Random Samantha story (no pictures)
Sometimes we just have these conversations that just make me stop and look at Samantha. You never really know what she's going to say. Last night we had one and I just thought I'd share it.
Somehow she started talking about Scooby Doo and it went from there...
Mommy: Yeah, I don't really like Scooby Doo.
Samantha: Well, I like Scooby Doo and Daddy likes Scooby Doo.
Mommy: Actually, Daddy's not a big Scooby Doo fan either.
Samantha: Yes he is.
Mommy: He isn't, but I don't know why you are concerned about this, you don't really like Scooby Doo either. You don't really know Scooby Doo. Do you even know what he is?
Samantha: Yes, I do. He's a dog. Daddy likes him because he likes puppies.
*side note - we had a looong discussion another day 5-6 months ago about who liked puppies and who liked kitties and why mommy didn't like kitties (I'm allergic)*
Mommy: Well, yes, he is a dog and Daddy does like puppies, and I like puppies too, but we don't really like Scooby Doo.
Samantha: Mommy, Scooby Doo is a fantastic dog.
At this point, I just had to stop to keep from rolling in the floor laughing. I mean, what do you say to this?
Just for clarification - I don't have anything personally against Scooby Doo. I liked the show a lot as a child, but it's one of those things that when you watch it as an adult, you think "What did I like about this?" I don't even know how Samantha knows Scooby Doo. To my knowledge, she has never watched the show. She asks when we're in a store and we see something with his picture on it. I have told her "Oh, that's Scooby Doo," but that's the extent of her knowledge. But just so you know, don't ever insult Scooby Doo around Samantha, because she thinks he is "fantastic."
