Cookie, Oatmeal, and Applesauce

Recently Samantha has decided that she loves Cookie Monster. She now chooses him over all her other animals and baby dolls to "snuggle" when she goes to bed. As a big Cookie Monster fan himself, her daddy is so proud.

We are also continuing to work on self-feeding with a spoon. Most of the time Samantha does pretty good. However, there are times... For example, on this particular occasion, Samantha had eaten a bowl of oatmeal by herself fairly successfully. I then gave her some blueberry applesauce and ran upstairs to check my e-mail. From what I can tell, she did pretty good to start with and then decided to clean out the entire container...using her face. For future reference, oatmeal does a good job of helping applesauce stick the face of a toddler. Our normal clean-up with a wet paper towel did nothing to remove any of the blue/purple specks from her face and we went straight from the high chair to the bath tub.
